Good Shepherd seeks to be a community of mutual caregiving. Our Belonging ministry nurtures and cares for our growing church family and friends. We are all encouraged to develop and faithfully use the spiritual gift of compassionate service to those experiencing various periods of life transitions.
The Ways We Care
- Please let us know how we can be in prayer for you.
- Please send prayer requests so we can pray for them. Let us know if you’d like them to be shared on the prayer email. If you are not on the prayer email, let us know too. Contact Rev. Lisa McGehee.
- Church Directory – Click here for information to log in to our Church Directory. Note: if we do not have your current address in the directory, you will not be able to log in. Contact Rev. Lisa McGehee for more information. Don’t forget to add your photo to the directory; it helps us recognize each other.
- Connect with Staff – Staff is available to pray with you and to offer encouragement. We also have names of people who are available to assist in picking up prescriptions, etc. Our email addresses are here.
Prayer Shawls. Since February 2005, Good Shepherd has given more than 1000 prayer shawls to friends, family, and members. Prayer shawls are tangible symbols of God’s presence and comfort. The need is tremendous, and there is a place for you in this ministry. If you knit and/or crochet, please consider making a shawl. We would love to teach you if you do not know how to knit or crochet. You can also help by purchasing yarn. Please continue to pray for the ministry, especially those making the shawls and those who receive them. This ministry is for people of all ages. Let us know if you are interested in making a shawl but cannot meet. Prayer shawls are placed on the kneeling rail in the sanctuary on the first Sunday of each month. Please take one for you or someone you know who needs comfort. If you need one at any other time, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Clare Dunn or call the church office. We meet on the second Saturday each month from 10 a.m. to noon in room 118. To be added to our email distribution list, contact Clare Dunn.
Providing care to those in need is very important to all of us at Good Shepherd. During surgery, illness, death, birthdays, and anniversaries, we express our care through prayers, cards, meals, and prayer shawls. If you would like to know more about our email prayer ministry, contact Rev. Lisa McGehee or the meal team contact Jessica Martin.
