Welcome to Student Ministries at Good Shepherd!
Good Shepherd welcomes all students in grades 6 through 12 to participate in our programs. This is a place where students belong and are encouraged to grow in their faith in God.
At Good Shepherd, we believe we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ on earth, and as such, our students spend time in Bible study, worship, and service to those in need in our community and beyond.
Students are invited to join us for any opportunity. You do not need to be a member of Good Shepherd to participate. We hope to see you soon!

Bible Study
Students meet at 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings for Bible study. Lessons are scripture-focused with life application lessons. Prior to Bible study, students are welcomed in the 10 a.m. worship.
Local Missions
Students meet regularly on public school holidays to serve those in need in the Richmond/Henrico Community. Areas of service include The Doorways, Wings of Hope Ranch, and others.
Youth Group
Students meet on Sunday evenings from 6:30 – 8 p.m. during the school year. The group meets in the sanctuary for supper and fellowship, followed by games and worship. Our time of worship includes singing and a topic-based discussion.
Confirmation
Confirmation classes are offered every other year for students in grades 8 and 9. Confirmation is a study of the basics of the Christian faith, specifically United Methodism. At the completion of classes, students are offered the opportunity to be confirmed in their faith and become full professing members of Good Shepherd Church. Our next class is in 2024.
Mission Trips
Mission trips are offered in the summer for all students. Middle school students participate in a local week of daily community service. High school students participate in a week-long out-of-town mission experience through YouthWorks.
